WHY AM I HEARING JET NOISE WHEN NOTHING IS SCHEDULED? From the Navy: "People living in local communities should remain aware that the operations scheduled below (or not) are not the only operations out of NAS Whidbey Island, particularly at Ault Field, which is a 24-hour-a-day operational facility. There are many other training evolutions that people may hear. However, the aircraft carrier flight training operations are types of operations that involve lower altitude flight training in close vicinity to the airfield." FRANKLY, WE WONDER WHY WE EVEN BOTHER TO POST THESE SCHEDULES PUBLISHED BY THE NAVY; THEY RARELY CONFORM TO REALITY.
Please use San Juan County's Aircraft Noise Reporting Website to report jet noise that is bothering you. This data is analyzed frequently and reported to elected officials. Copies of those reports are available here.

!!!!!!!!!***Runway Closures at Ault Field, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. AFFECTING LOPEZ ISLAND. Repairs to Runways 7/25 at Ault Field are scheduled from early March until November 2025. During this closure aircraft will takeoff and land using the remaining runways (Runway 14/32) heading either Northwest or Southeast. This takeoff and landing approach will result in increased activity over eastern Oak Harbor, northern Camano Island, Anacortes, La Conner and Lopez Island.
